Purely Bali

I have heard so much about Bali and lately, a friend of mine just came back from this place and highly recommended me to travel there. I got excited about it and quickly logged in to my 'personal travel consultant' website – PYO Travel.com to source for some travel info & packages. To my surprise, I’ve found out that there are more than what I’ve expected in Bali!

Turtle Island
I have never know Bali has got a sanctuary to breed sea turtles. As someone who loves nature, this is actually a main attraction to me. I want to see and hold the turtles in my arms and embrace them with love. I also got to know that many species are being bred here with the attention of professionals. That's good to know that they (the turtles, of course!) are in good care. I can’t wait to see them and have some pictures with those cute little sea creatures.

Dolphin Watching
Dolphins?!! Gosh, I really thought that I need to be in Australia to see dolphins! Well, in order to see those active swimming dolphins, we need to take a cruise ride to the deep ocean. I believe the dolphins would be more than happy to welcome us and dance for us in the sea as their welcoming act. Boy, really can’t wait to see these rare marine mammals in the nature. I must have my camera ready for them!

Uluwatu Temple
A temple built by the cliff above the ocean. The scene here is so amazing that it almost took everybody’s breath away whenever they see it. Well, to me, this place is special because I have never seen a temple built so near to the ocean before. What more, by a cliff! My friend told me there were a lot of monkeys around when they were there. Again, get ready your peanuts guys!

Ubud
This place, I heard, is absolutely an artistic place. There are batik paintings, wood carvings, stone engravings and other kinds of art (you name it!), can be found easily here. In other words, it’s the haven for artists and creative people to gather and show off their talents and masterpieces. Actually, I think Ubud itself is already an artwork of nature. Look at the picture below and you will know what I mean.

Tanah Lot Temple
Another temple built by the ocean. But this one, it is situated on top of a big piece of rock, by the Indian Ocean offshore. The special highlight here is that the temple would be surrounded by sea water by every sunset.

Spa
Spa! Spa! Spa! What a great way to pamper yourself! My friend told me spas here are at reasonable prices and said that you have never been to Bali if you have not tried out their spa treatments. I bet I would be the first one to indulge myself in their signature treatment here.

I have actually booked my tickets to Bali for my coming trip. How about yourself? If you have not done so, no worries! PYO Travel.com is the way to go…

BALI, HERE I COME!!!

P/S : Thanks to Ms Felicia for her beautiful pictures of Uluwatu Temple & Tanah Lot Temple...

A Love-Hate Relationship

It has always been a love-hate relationship between Malaysia and Singapore. Being neighbours, we’re tied closely together in terms of geographic location, only separated by the Straits of Johor (Selat Tebrau), a mere 50km wide where a wanted terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari managed to swim across it with the help of an ‘improvised flotation device’ in his dash to freedom on 8 May 2009. So, that makes us, Malaysia and Singapore, really really close neighbours.

I love Singapore being my neighbour. It is my time of shopping extravagance whenever I go over for a visit. (at least once a year, usually year end) Who have not heard of Singapore’s infamous Pre-Christmas Sales and Boxing Day Sales? It’s quite fanatical, I’d say from personal experience. As a shopaholic, I think I gel into the atmosphere pretty decently.

In USA, New York City has its 5th Avenue: Gucci, Prada, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdoff Goodman, Lord & Taylor, Tiffany & Co, Cartier, BVLGARI, Armani, Fendi, Versace, Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels, Louis Vuitton and the rest of the world’s most exclusive, classy retail stores reign the most expensive street in the world, as it is ranked in Forbes magazine in 2008. As it is exclusive, posh, and classy, let’s not forget that it is p.r.i.c.e.y too. Nice to see, nice to hold, once broken, considered sold! I’ll be bankrupt if that ever happen to me over at any of the stores there. Well, I’m not sure I want to spend a couple of hundreds or thousands USD$ on a single item there anyway.

In another class of its own, Singapore has Orchard Road to boast, known as the retail and entertainment hub of this state-country. It opens its hands to the locals plus the throngs of foreign visitors everyday. The heavy human traffic on this shopping belt proves its popularity as the best shopping delight, I’d say! To me, if there’s class division in heaven, Orchard Road is the premium class shopping heaven! Instead of exclusive private luxury stores, Orchard Road has a zillion malls that will spoil you for choice. Ranging from the zany arrays of eccentric shoplets at Far East Plaza to the winner of tourism award for best shopping experience at Centre Point, where you’d find Robinson & Co., Orchard Road guarantees ever shopper its one-of-a-kind (the good kind) of shopping bliss, one that you can truly shop oh-so-joyfully with its wonderful exciting sales.

The Crowd @ Orchard
It is by no coincidence that June is fast approaching (in 5 days!) Singapore is changing its facet as it dresses itself up to welcome you to its mid-year island-wide mega sale with offers up to 70%. For a more thrilling shopping experience, join the Great Singapore Shopping Challenge where you may stand a chance to be crowned as the ULTIMATE Bargain-Hunter/ Huntress.

Don’t resist it, treat yourself and indulge in this irresistible offering of great bargains! It’s not sin for some self-pampering once awhile.

P.S. - If you don’t already know what I mean when I say there are a ‘zillion’ malls on Orchard Road, you can check it out here, and then book your trip with a click right over here.

Let’s Talk About PERTH

A lot of my friends are in Australia either to further their studies, to work or for leisure. For me, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to study there nor to work in a foreign country like Australia. But however, I know that Australia will always be there for me to explore and venture about. There are a few destinations so attractive that have made it into my “must visit” list. One of the destinations I meant is Perth, the capital of Australia.

Kings Park is one of the famous attraction places in Perth. Being near to Mother Nature, you are always hugged by big trees, bushlands, plants and various types of faunas all around this park, giving you a warm welcome. The guided walkway in Kings Park will lead the path while you explore the natural surroundings of bushland paths and the Botanic Garden as well as visiting some memorials & monuments like the Kings Park War Memorial and Edith Cowan Memorial Clock.
For those who love seas and beaches, Cottesloe Beach would be a great choice for you. Smooth fine sands welcoming everyone as the bright sun says ‘hello’! Sun bathing and swimming; Oh, my favourite pastime… and building sand castles with the kids…! I bet it would be one the best family outing ever!

Whenever I travel, I always look for a place for shopping and good food! I guess Fremantle would be a wise choice. There is this market place where different kinds of handicrafts, fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood and other products are available. I think I should be able to find some souvenirs here.
Talking about seafood, this is also the best place for fresh seafood! And the price is exceptionally reasonable. Why?! Well, there is an operational fishing boat harbour here. That’s why you can easily find extra fresh seafood at reasonable prices here. And by night, the place would be full of bars and pubs for us to hang out.
If time allows, do drop by the Fremantle Prison. It used to be a prison during the British Colonial but now, it is now turned into a museum and fast becoming one of the most famous tourist spots in Perth.
Can’t wait to fly to Perth already? Wait no more and visit PYO Travel.com for more details.

I’ll Make You a Bet in Macau…

$1? $500? $8888? Hah! What’s your bet?

Will you become the next lucky star who walks out as the biggest winner to become an instant millionaire? Who knows?

What I do know is the ever present thrill of laying down a wager at one of the world’s largest, highest-volume gambling centre in the world --- Venetian, Macau.

Venetian, Macau

Being a bigger, more extravagant creation of its sister-casino in Las Vegas, USA, Venetian Macau Resort Hotel treats you to a luxurious experience through stunning replicas of Venice landmarks.

Imagine the grandeur of St. Mark’s Square, the rustic reddish brown stone Campanile Tower and the majestic arch pillars of Doge’s Palace lined-up in unison. It is not your average jaw-dropping splendor and lavishness at Venetian when you step into this massive mega structural design.

Fancy a ride on the gondola?

Being located in Macau, it’s not surprising to expect a little ‘Chinese’ touch as you’ll see little Chinese-style row boats and gondolas sailing across the canal. It’s charming and romantic as you enjoy the ersatz outdoor atmosphere inside the casino.

If testing out your lucky stars at the machine slots or game tables is not your cup of tea, there are always the best-served stylish gourmet restaurants for you recharge and to savour the various taste of the world or back to the local Macanese flavours after your day of shopping.

Time for a bite after all the shopping!

Oh, I mentioned Shopping. There are more than 300 stores for you to explore along the canal, offering the best in fashion, jewellery, accessories, gifts, services and sporting goods. Getting souveniers has never been so easy. If you get tired of walking, hop on to the little sampans with your shopping bags and be entertained by the colourful street performers.

There are also non-stop show times for you to pick! Be it toe-tapping along the electrifying dance shows; rub shoulders with super star live-in-concert, or be enthralled with a magic performance more than just pulling out a rabbit-from-the-hat-trick. If you crave for more, there’s the all new world renowned show – Zaia by Cirque du Soliel. I can guarantee you to be spellbound by its blend of music, drama, dance, and magic!

Not to be missed- ZAIA by Cirque du Soleil

There are also other big-names mega casinos in Macau, but I don’t want to overwhelm you with too much excitement in one-‘read’. They are all so exhilarating! Till then, more to come in future on Macau!

Don’t wait for me to post more before your visit to this splendid excitement-filled place. You can always check it out Now.

A Beautiful Place Called Hanoi

Located by the Red River bank, Hanoi is the capital and the second largest city of Vietnam. Ever wonder what can you expect from this city? Well, if you want to know more, read on. And don’t forget to explore PYO Travel.com for exciting tour packages details, which can bring you to explore the beautiful Hanoi.

People have been wondering why I like Hanoi so much. Well, I find that the lifestyle there is very relaxing, peaceful and calm. When I was there, I could really keep my mind at ease and not thinking about all the hustle and bustle of my life in KL City... (at least for awhile!)

Here’s a list of what I liked about Hanoi :
1. One Pillar Pagoda
Being one of the most iconic temples in Vietnam, One Pillar Pagoda stands proudly on its pillar (as suggested by its name) in the heart of a lotus pond. The interesting part of this Buddhist temple is the story behind it. Once upon a time, the Emperor dreamt of receiving a son from bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara while seated on a lotus flower. Not long later, he married a peasant girl and was gifted a son. The Emperor then constructed this temple to be built. I would not know if this story (or legend) is real or not but it was really beautiful and the meaning behind it is so touching.

2. Temple of Literature Think Temple of Literature, think Confucius! Don’t be surprised if someone tells you that this Confucian temple is the first university in Vietnam. You can find names of scholars being crafted on the stone walls on top of big stone turtles being displayed there. I guess the turtles represent longevity.

3. Old Quarters

Haven for motorcyclists...

This is one of my favourite spots in Hanoi. Do include this in your "must-visit" list. This is where you can find various exciting things here; food, drinks, clothes, art pieces, handicrafts, souvenirs, traditional medicine, toys, bags, watches and the list goes on… You would be surprised with all sorts of things here every minute! And also don't leave your calculators at home... the best tool for bargaining!!!
4. Halong Bay & Sung Sot Cave

Cock Fighting Islet...

You will see a lot of this "floating convenient stores" around...

This is my favourite place of all! Halong Bay is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Frankly speaking, I have never been surrounded by so many beautiful rocks and isles in the middle of the sea before. Staying overnight in the middle of the sea gave me a new experience which I would never want to forget. Imagine lying down on the top deck of the junk, looking up to the sky with the bright moon glowing in the dark, sipping a glass of chilled red wine… Oh, what a great way to enjoy life!

When we were in Halong Bay, we also explored Sung Sot Cave and managed to see so many stalactites and stalagmites naturally formed into various shapes and sizes. By the end of our journey in the cave, upon reaching the exit of the cave, we saw the best view of Halong Bay ever!

5. Super Sweet Pineapples
There were so many mobile stalls moving about along every roads of Hanoi. If you happen to see one selling pineapples, wait no more! Stop them and buy some from them. The mini pineapples are super sweet that you would never regret munching the whole fruit in the public!

Couldn’t wait longer for my next trip there. Have you been to Hanoi before? Don’t hesitate to share your experience there with me. For those who have never been to Hanoi, click PYO Travel.com to start your wonderful journey to a beautiful place called Hanoi.

Where dreams come true...

  • Anaheim, California
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Tokyo, Japan
  • Paris, France
  • Hong Kong
Can you tell me a similarity that these 5 places share?

Hint:

Yes! You got it right! It’s Disneyland!

I remember the time when I was still a little girl. I would excitedly read my Mickey magazine from cover-to-cover when it got delivered to my classroom. I would have my Minnie Mouse stuffed toy accompany me to Disney Land in my dreams. I would watch every Disney cartoons more than a zillion times.

I am proudly a Disney fan!

Are you one too?

Even if you’re not, Disneyland has a place for everyone. Whether you are going there with friends, with your special love one, with your family… expect a great time there!

I did! It was awesome! Last year, I just had my chance experiencing childhood again at Walt Disney World, Orlando in Florida, USA. I giggled like a little girl as I explored the four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom. But that’s not where I want to talk about today. With H1N1 threatening so many lives in the US, let’s go to an alternative that is equally nice, and much more nearer to us– Disneyland, Hong Kong.

Disneyland Hong Kong encompasses Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland. Before you actually get to the main entrance to these enchanted lands, you’ll walk through the exciting Main Street, USA.

Here’s to give you a tiny glimpse of magic for you at what you’ll find at Disneyland, Hong Kong, where dreams come true.

Escapade to Phuket!

Sun, sea, sand and girls!!! Phuket, my dream vacation escapade! Have been longing to this island which is so famous for having James Bond there long time ago and also island hopping to other smaller islands like Phi Phi Don Island and Phi Phi Ley Island. I also heard that there’s this beach called "Monkey Beach" where the monkeys rule!!! Better be bringing more bananas for them before they grab my everything… Yikes!!!

PYO Travel.com is offering affordable and interesting tours for everyone. So, wait no more! I wanted to book my tickets online for my trip to Phuket. I was surprised that they have so many options to choose from. Anyhow, heard from my friend the 4-days trip is just nice… Actually I was struggling on which tour package to choose – James Bond Island or Phi Phi Island? (or both?)

I did some research on the Net and found out that both of these island have their own attractions!

Option 1 : James Bond Island
I think most of us know why it’s called James Bond Island but for those who are wondering, let me show you why :

Can you see James Bond there? Haha! Actually the island was used as one of the shooting locations of the 1974 James Bond movie, “The Man with the Golden Gun”. Cool...!

Besides that, there is also this cave called “Tham Lod Cave” where we can see wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. There are so many different forms can be found. Some even formed beautiful shapes and sculptures on it.
Dolls ?
Elephant ?

Popcorn ? Care for a movie with me?According to PYO Travel.com, the fee to James Bond National Park only costs THB200 per person (equivalent to MYR22 only). Quite reasonable!

Option 2 : Phi Phi Island
What a cute name?! Got to know that Phi Phi Island is separated into two islands; one big, one small. The big one is called Phi Phi Don Island while the small one is called Phi Phi Ley Island. "Monkey Beach" can be found in Phi Phi Don Island. Don’t forget your bananas!!! (and peanuts too!)

The package from PYO Travel also offer free snorkeling session for us in Phi Phi Ley Island… The best part is that life jacket, mask and snorkels are included!!! Hurray!!!

Picturesque places like Lho Sa Mah Bay, Phi Leh Cove and Viking Cave presents beautiful sceneries where can be found in no other places.

Lho Sa Mah Bay

Phi Leh Cove

Viking Cave – Swallows’ favourite hang out place, which eventually is the best place for birds’ nest collection.
See! Told ‘ya it’s difficult to make up my mind on which island to go – James Bond Island? Or Phi Phi Island? Both sounds equally attractive, right?!

If you were me, which one would you choose? Feel free to drop by PYO Travel.com for more information and don’t forget to tell me your answers in the 'Comments' column.

Discover THREE Reasons To Go To Bali

It is the Best Time, Season, and Price, Now. (‘till June)

There’s always a certain time and season in every place. We know not to go the deserts in summer months, we know not to go to disease infected countries (H1N1), and our advisor in our mind counsel us on so on and so forth.

So why is it the Best Time to visit Bali now?
Every westerner is green with jealousy with Malaysians experiencing 365 days of awesome summer climate. They can’t wait till their July holiday break begins and hop onto a plane and land themselves on a nice beach to tan. So why would we want to battle in booking our vacation and then find ourselves on a crowded beach and other attraction with only enough space to barely breathe? So get there before everyone else does!

When is the Best Season to visit Bali?
Now. Malaysia shares similar weather with Bali. The temperature has been soaring high at 36°C or over. Rain or no rain, it’s the same season to us. We have gotten so used to it that we forget about seasons. Yes, there is a season for traveling to Bali. Beside dry and rainy, there’s Peak Season. We want to avoid that. With peak season, all prices will most probably be hike up and we will find ourselves having to combat for a serene, quiet spot for relaxation. Let us not burden ourselves further on a vacation trip and drive ourselves crazy. It’s not worth it.

Can I really get the Best Price Now?
Yes! Didn’t I just tell you that the prices go up during peak season in July? Well, unless you manage to get a steal, which is hard, go now! I have a good place for you to check it out. Click HERE.
